＜What is Oizuri?＞
"Oizuri" is the name given to the white vest worn by pilgrims during their journey to a sacred place. Pilgrims used to collect the stamps of the temples or shrines they visited directly onto the back of their vest. The more decorated the oizuri was, the most pious the pilgrim was thought to be. Participants who rent an Oizuri will receive the Oizuri vest, a pointed pilgrim hat called Sugegasa, and a pilgrim stick called Kongozue. To accomplish the real pilgrimage of Mt.Yudono, pilgrims need to wear the oizuri, put on the Sugegasa hat, and wear straw sandals called waraji before purifying their mind and body in Mt.Yudono's holy water.
